Malabrigo is a family owned yarn company located in Uruguay.  Their wool is 100% produced by Uruguayan farms that allow their free-range sheep to wander through the hills and are herded by old-style shepherds.  They do not participate in the controversial practice of mulesing and sheep are sheared pre-lambing.  They are committed to achieving the highest standards of ethical sheep husbandry.  They also own and operate a second mill based in Peru.

Rasta for the win!

I ordered this yarn, and a handful more colours for a knitting workshop I'm running. I knew Malabrigo Rasta would be the perfect way to get new knitters to fall in love with this craft. Jessica was so supportive through the whole process, and I'm so excited to watch the folks in my workshop get their hands on this yarn for the first time.
